How To Sew Valance Curtains

Step 1: Measure and Cut the Fabric

Measure the width of your window and add 6 inches for overlap. Measure the length of your desired valance and add 4 inches for the hem. Cut two pieces of fabric to these measurements.

Step 2: Create the Lining (Optional)

If you are using a lining fabric, cut two pieces of fabric to the same size as the valance fabric. Place the lining fabric on the wrong side of the valance fabric and pin it in place.

Step 3: Sew the Side Seams
