How To Mount Curtain Rods On Plaster Walls

Plaster walls are a beautiful and classic addition to any home, but they can be tricky to hang things on. The key is to use the right hardware and to take your time. Here are the steps on how to mount curtain rods on plaster walls:

1. Choose the right hardware. For plaster walls, you'll need to use self-drilling anchors. These anchors are designed to create their own holes in the plaster, so you don't have to pre-drill. You'll also need screws that are at least 2 inches long.

2. Mark the location of the curtain rod. Use a level to make sure the rod is level, and then mark the location of the brackets on the wall. Make sure to space the brackets evenly apart.

3. Drill the pilot holes. Use a drill bit that is the same size as the anchors. Drill the pilot holes about 1/2 inch deep.

4. Insert the anchors. Tap the anchors into the pilot holes until they are flush with the wall.

5. Screw in the brackets. Use the screws to screw the brackets into the anchors. Make sure the brackets are tight.
