How To Wash Shower Curtain In Washer

Shower curtains are an important part of any bathroom, but they can also be a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. That's why it's important to wash your shower curtain regularly.

Fortunately, washing a shower curtain in the washer is a fairly simple process. Just follow these steps and you'll have a clean shower curtain in no time.

Materials You'll Need:

  1. Shower curtain
  2. Washing machine
  3. Mild detergent
  4. Fabric softener (optional)

Steps:

  1. Inspect the shower curtain.
Before you wash your shower curtain, inspect it for any damage. If there are any tears or holes, you'll need to repair them before washing. To repair a tear, simply sew it up with a needle and thread.

Remove the shower curtain from the rod.
Once you've inspected the shower curtain, remove it from the rod. You can do this by unhooking the curtain from the rings or by simply pulling it off the rod.

    Pretreat any stains.
If there are any stains on the shower curtain, pretreat them with a stain remover. Apply the stain remover to the stain and allow it to sit for a few minutes before washing.

Place the shower curtain in the washing machine
Place the shower curtain in the washing machine. Add a mild detergent to the machine and set the cycle to a gentle setting. If you want, you can also add fabric softener to the machine.

    Wash the shower curtain.
Allow the shower curtain to wash for the full cycle.

Remove the shower curtain from the washing machine.
Once the cycle is complete, remove the shower curtain from the washing machine. Hang the shower curtain up to dry or tumble dry on low.

    Rehang the shower curtain.
Once the shower curtain is dry, rehang it on the rod.

    Tips:

    • To prevent the shower curtain from wrinkling, hang it up immediately after washing.
    • If the shower curtain is particularly dirty, you can add a cup of white vinegar to the washing machine along with the detergent.
    • Don't wash the shower curtain with other items, such as towels or clothing.
    • If you have a plastic shower curtain, you can clean it with a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Simply spray the solution onto the curtain and wipe it down with a clean cloth.
    • To prevent mold and mildew from growing on your shower curtain, make sure to keep the bathroom well-ventilated.
